European diversidad (diversity) project blending heavy hitters from different parts of the continent to record a collective album. Many languages, many backgrounds, one heartbeat - Hip-Hop.
- The Video below is from a group that could be considered the fathers of portuguese Hip-Hop (Black Company). This track blends Portuguese traditional music "Fado" with Hip-Hop.
- Marcelo D2 is one of the fathers of Brazilian hip-hop merging it with his native music "Samba". This is a rapper who has had the privilege of Collaborating with the extended family of the Wu-Tang Clan (e.g. Shabazz).
- And the upstanding Azagaia below blends the Hip-Hop genre with music from the African continent and voices a powerful message of Mozambican pride, inspiring his people to value their own natural resources and identity.
-
Rapper Tumi from South Africa merges kwaito and Hip-Hop in such a natural way to promote self-esteem on the track below.
- This is just some of the music within my Radar. But it's enough to show how many lives hip-hop has touched and the consciousness it has inspired within it's true fans.
